Experienced Director of Education & Special Projects with a demonstrated skilled work history in Event Execution, Event Marketing, Event Planning, Fundraising, Program Development, and Budget Management. Director of Education & Special Projects

August 2009 - Present

  • Plan, strategize, and coordinate BMWED’s conventions, held every 4 years, with more than 1000 members and guests in attendance (successful events in 2010 and 2014 and 2018).

  • Execute researching, vetting and selection of all convention related trinkets/items; development of signage design; overseeing event layout; organizing of meeting setup; communicate with vendors/special guests; guest registration management; planning and execution of guest luncheon with entertainment (approximately 325 in attendance); selection of all menu items.

  • Develop, design, and execute an average of 4 educational workshops and 2 association meetings per year across the United States for groups of 24 to 150 members.

  • Research hotels and event locations; Negotiate and sign contracts; Development of curriculum and agenda items; Selection and coordination with guest speakers and instructors; Travel to locations of events as primary contact to strategize and execute entirety of event from set up to breakdown—including check-in, menu planning, material distribution, and evening activities.

  • Coordinate with vendors to create and prepare all association meeting and training related materials and products, including: informational letters, signage, educational manuals, lapel pins, hats, jackets, tee-shirts, and mugs.

  • Assist at All Craft Meetings in strategizing actions and community connected activities to help get awareness out for local labor organizations.

  • Initiated online website updates for easier navigation and membership utilization.

  • Created BMWED website “Resource” section, giving easy access and quick availability of documents and reference materials used in educational trainings.

  • Established initial BMWED presence at Teamsters’ annual Women’s Conference and continuing coordination of booth setup and related materials.

  • Manage and organize the BMWED scholarship program selection process. Updated program to an anonymous selection and presented to Brotherhood’s Executive Board a research proposal for increasing scholarships—which was put forth and approved.

  • Coordinated with association vendor to implement an online merchandise store and stock store with appropriate membership specific items.  

  • Worked additionally as Campaign Manager from 2010 to 2016 for the President of BMWED and handled all aspects of his campaign for the Teamsters Executive Board. Set up and facilitated campaign fundraisers. Organized, computed and filed campaign finances per federal labor union election standards/regulations. Assisted President with all campaign travel and requests.

  • Designed and implemented lessons tailored to the students’ levels of English conversation in a French high school.

  • Translated and summarized French news articles from French to English.
